Tablet batteries don't change all that often, and there are few reasons to do so. In most cases, the owner changes the battery in order to increase the battery life of the device or due to a breakdown of the energy cell itself.
Let's look at the most common reasons why users buy and change to new batteries for the tablet. We will talk about ordinary mobile gadgets, with the exception of newfangled iPads and other hard-to-open flagship devices that are serviced only in service shops.
Reason for changing the tablet battery:
- complete or partial failure of the battery (usually due to power surges);
- mechanical damage to the element;
- poor battery life;
- Natural battery wear.
The most relevant reason is when an element partially or completely fails. It was then that the owner faced the question of replacing the battery. There are many varieties of batteries for the tablet, but the user does not need to have any specific mechanical or electronic skills to perform this procedure.
Checking battery operation
The first thing is not superfluouswill check that the element is really not working. The most accurate diagnosis in this case is a special tester, but if it is not at hand, checking by conventional methods will do.
Symptoms of battery failures:
- the gadget does not charge even with a good memory and normal connectors (many tablets suffer from this);
- Battery takes longer to charge than usual;
- device recharges too fast and sits down just as fast;
- incorrect indication of remaining charge;
- gadget does not turn on.
We should also mention one more symptom that is very common in Android devices.
Battery availability issues
There are often cases when the battery is not to blame for the inoperability of the tablet. Sometimes the gadget simply "does not see" the battery. This question is especially relevant for the Nexus lines running the Android platform, although Apple devices sometimes sin with such a flaw.
This happens for one simple reason: the device went into sleep mode, and the tablet's battery charge slowly melted while it was "sleeping". And no matter how long the gadget then charges, it will still not be able to turn on. This symptom is sometimes indicated by flickering pixels or the entire screen when the device is connected to the charger.
Solve the problem
In this case, of course, there is no need to buy new batteries for the tablet, it is enough to perform a "hard reset". In almost every manualoperation, you can find a key combination that is responsible for a similar start of the gadget.
If there are no such instructions, you can look at the detailed manual on the device manufacturer's website. As a rule, this is a simple combination: hold the volume rocker up and hold the power key for 10-15 seconds. Next, after the start menu appears, you need to select the item "Turn off the device" (Power off Device). Then you need to connect the gadget to charging and after 5-10 minutes try to turn it on. Everything should work.
Battery replacement
The main thing here is to figure out what kind of battery your tablet needs. It should be noted right away that prejudices like "the battery should be similar to the original one" are nonsense. You can install absolutely any element on your device, but of course, with certain reservations. The main parameters that must be strictly observed in our case are the battery voltage and sometimes its exact dimensions.
For this kind of devices, there are only two voltage standards:
- 3, 7 V - for 5-volt networkers;
- 7, 4V - for 9/12V devices.
It should also be noted that the higher the mAh (milliamp-hour), the longer your device will work. For a higher autonomy, some manufacturers use the parallel connection of several batteries (very common in modelsSony).
What's under the lid
In almost all tablets, the display controller is built into the battery itself, with rare exceptions, it can be located on the device itself (in older gadget models). It is almost impossible to mix up the wires: black / white is a “minus”, and red is a “plus”,. The blue or green strip is designed to exit the connector. In very rare cases, the device is equipped with two "pluses", and this was noticed only in exclusive products from Apple and Sony.
Be that as it may, all the subtleties of the distribution of the poles are indicated in the technical manual, which, as mentioned above, can be easily found on the official website of the manufacturer of your device, if one was not included.
As for the dismantling of the lid itself, in most cases both parts of the gadget are attached with double-sided tape, and only rare flagship models are equipped with ornate fasteners or special strips for disassembly.
