Why do you need to know how to remove the background in Photoshop?
The desire to improve the impression of a well-made portrait can arise in any person. A well “caught” angle, excellent sharpness, perfect color reproduction of the picture are pleasing, but the background let us down: a dull wall, an inopportunely passing truck or someone’s curious face spoil the whole impression. Or another situation: the owner of a modest little car dreams of a prestigious car of an expensive brand, and first wants to visualize himself standing near his own black BMW or red Ferrari. A young man dreaming about interplanetary travel sees himself next to a spaceship at the starting position, and wishes to have in his homearchive such a photo. Nothing is impossible, you can take any suitable picture, and, having figured out how to remove the background in Photoshop, set a new, desired one. Let's practice on the dog.
What is needed to correct the background
In the role of Asterisk, Squirrel or Arrow will be an ordinary Bug sitting on a prosaic laminate. There is an image of her taken with a digital camera, or even a camera built into a mobile phone (they sometimes allow you to take fairly high-quality pictures). The image format can be any, the location (page or landscape) also does not matter. If Adobe Photoshop is already installed on your computer, then the task is simplified as much as possible, and if not, then you should connect to the Internet and download it, or take the opportunity to use the Photoshop program online. Removing the background is not difficult, and the process will take a few minutes. In addition to free time, you need the right attitude (if you think that nothing will work out, then it will) and a firm hand.
Preparatory operations
So, the program is there, the picture has been chosen, and first you need to combine these two indispensable participants in any creative work together. The photo can be opened with Adobe Photoshop. What is good about modern software is its visibility. Just hover over the selected image, press the right key and immediately all the possible options for what you can do with it will appear. We need to "Open with" and further -Adobe Photoshop.
There is another option. To remove the background in Photoshop CS5 (this is the most common version at present), you need to open the program itself (by double-clicking on its icon) and drag the image from the desired folder onto the gray box, which will immediately appear in the toolbars environment.

Draw borders and remove the background
The first tool you need to get started is called the Magic Wand. There are two of them, with the signs "+" and "-", they are located on the left panel, and, accordingly, have green and red colors, like a traffic light. Mentally, the entire image can be divided into two parts: the one that should be left, and the one to be removed, that is, the background. The question of how to remove the background in Photoshop is solved with the help of these sticks. By marking with a green outline the approximate silhouette of a dog (very approximately, which is called "without fanaticism"), we guarantee its safety after image processing, and by circling it around with a red line, we doom everything else to ruthless erasure in advance.
Don't be afraid to make a mistake. Any action that led to undesirable consequences can be easily canceled by simultaneously pressing the Ctrl and Z keys. If you need to go back two or more steps, the same operation must be repeated the corresponding number of times.
Now everything is very simple, you should point the "magic wand" at the area to be deleted and press the "delete" key. If athere were some complications associated with the incorrect definition of the boundaries of the regions by the software due to their complex shape, you can correct the result using the eraser located here, on the left panel.
The resulting image can be saved on a transparent background by selecting the corresponding option in the "Create file" menu. The result is saved in-p.webp
