Probably everyone who lives in the countryside or comes there to relax in the summer, has a boat or dreams of one. This is understandable, because spending time on the water is the most desired and most wonderful vacation.

Boating is a great sport as it strengthens the muscles in your arms and back. Another thing is that, sitting on the oars, it is difficult to pay attention to all the beauties of nature, especially if the rower is inexperienced. And it is unlikely that you will be able to catch a fish - only if you anchor.

Not to mention the fact that the elderly or those with he alth problems will get tired very quickly and will not be able to swim far.

But that doesn't mean you have to give up river walks or always take a buddy with you to make getting around easier. You can install an electric motor for the boat and then all you have to do is steer your boat around the corners.

Here, many may argue that not everyone can afford the purchase of an electric motor. Even the Poltava electric motor (far from being the most powerful andfancy) is quite expensive.

But who said that you definitely need to buy it? It is quite possible to make an electric motor for a boat yourself, it is not so difficult. The main thing is to be able to use welding, have free time, a little patience and all the necessary details.

In order to weld a homemade boat electric motor, the following items will be required:

1. Battery (6 or 12 volt).

2. Battery-matched electric motor.

3. Steering column.

4. The screw with which the boat will move.

5. Clamp for fixing the mechanism.

The motor assembled from these elements is outboard. It should be noted that the electric motor must be hermetically packed in a special casing, as in case of contact with water it may fail.

Now about how to assemble an electric motor for a boat. To make a steering column, you need a water pipe of a relatively small diameter. It needs to be L-shaped. It should be noted that it is a hollow pipe that is needed here, since all the wires connecting the battery and the motor will pass through it. The resulting steering column is welded to the motor casing.

The screw that provides movement is also connected to the motor (with its shaft, to be more precise) by welding. In principle, at this stage, the electric motor for the boat is considered assembled. It remains only to fix it on the boat.

This is done with a clamp made of metal. She is tightis screwed to the boat, and the steering column and stop are already welded to it.

The electric motor for a boat made by this method is very convenient and durable. The only difficulty is the battery. If the boat is far from home, then every time it will be very difficult to carry such a burden. However, it is quite possible to solve this problem - an electric motor for a boat can also be made using another method that excludes the motor from the mechanism.

To make a motor that works without a battery, you will need the following parts:

1. Approximately 2 horsepower alternator.

2. Alkaline batteries (two NKN-45).

3. Electric motor.

4. Steel pipes.

5. Propeller pylon.

6. Bearings.

7. Metal bars and plates.

Of course, the design obtained from these parts will differ significantly from the model described above. An electric motor for a boat of this type will not be able to move too fast, and the time that it can run at full power is not too long. But such an engine creates almost no noise and is completely safe for the environment.
