Permanent magnets, and especially neodymium ones, are fraught with a huge amount of energy. This, of course, is not a perpetual motion machine, since over time any magnet demagnetizes, but its life can be tens of years. For example, one kilogram of such "tools" is enough to power your computer for life. Further in the article, we consider how you can make a homemade generator using such magnets. The finished model will deliver 1 amp to a 12V battery.

Parts and materials that will be needed for assembly:

  1. Neodymium magnets (25mm) - 24 pcs
  2. Hub from the wheel of a walk-behind tractor.
  3. Steel disc (diameter 105 mm, thickness 5 mm) - 2 pieces
  4. Space sleeve (15mm).
  5. Val.
  6. Epoxy.
  7. Enamel wire for coils (0.5 mm).
  8. Plywood 8 and 4 mm.
  9. Bearings – 2 pcs

This homemade generator for a wind turbine is not too large. A windmill is a fairly useful device in a country house or in a personal home. With it, you can save on electricity.

Magnets with alternating polarity are glued onto the discs. 12 per disc. Then they are about half filled with epoxy. In this way, parts of the rotor are made, which will then be put on the shaft.

In order to make a stator, you must first wind 12 coils of enamel wire on a homemade generator. It can be taken, for example, from the kinescope of an old broken TV. Each coil should have 60 turns of wire. Then the coils must be soldered with each other in series (beginning with the beginning, end with the end). The result is one phase.

Now a mold for pouring is made from plywood. A round hole is cut out in a sheet of plywood 8 mm. Then two "donuts" of different diameters are made. The larger one (8 mm) should match the hole in the first sheet (8 mm). It is inserted into this hole, and a smaller "donut" (4 mm) is placed over it. Coils are located around the perimeter of the larger one. Then all this is filled with epoxy resin. The next day, the bottom thick plywood sheet and the smaller donut are removed. The result is a beautiful transparent stator for a homemade generator made of cured epoxy and 12 coils inside it.

Then you need to insert the bearings into the hub, and into them - the shaft with the key. Next, the first rotor disk is put on the shaft, and then the spacer sleeve (15 mm). Then the stator is bolted to the hub with 3 bolts, and after the second rotor disc, which should restinto the spacer sleeve. The second disk is attached in such a way that its magnets, opposite the magnets of the first, have different polarities.

The gaps between them and the stator can be adjusted with copper bolts and nuts, placing them on both sides of the hub. They finish assembling a home-made permanent magnet generator by installing it on the protruding part of the windmill propeller shaft. It is pressed with a nut to the rotor. To do this, you need to use a grower. The rotor and stator can be covered from above with a visor. The easiest way to make it is to saw off the bottom of the saucepan with part of the walls.

The considered generator is not too powerful. Using this fairly simple technology, you can make a homemade generator that is perfect for a very small windmill. For more serious structures, a more powerful generator is needed.
