Monitors of computers, televisions, phones - a technology based on liquid crystals, which has found its application in many electronic devices and has become familiar and commonplace. But do you know what is remarkable about the IPS display, how it works and what excellent qualities it has? First of all, it is worth mentioning that the English abbreviation stands for "high-quality LCD matrix". It was created in 1995 in order to eliminate the shortcomings that TN technology has. In contrast, monitors consist of liquid crystals that are parallel to the monitor and rotate all at the same time under the influence of an electric field. That is why the IPS display has such a remarkable characteristic as a wide viewing angle. It can be up to 170°.

The scheme of the device is as follows. The first layer is the front polarizer, then the filter layer and guides. Next are liquid crystals, electrodes, control transistors. The rear polarizer and backlight unit complete the design of the monitor. If you see that the IPS display has dead pixels, then they will be black, not white. This is due to the fact that LC molecules do not rotate if they do not receiveelectronic voltage, and do not transmit light, since the second filter is in a perpendicular position with respect to the first. For this reason, the black color is wonderfully transmitted by the matrix.

What else is remarkable about monitors created using this technology? They are able to convey high contrast, wide spectrum colors, very saturated, natural and deep, corresponding to the RGB scale. Therefore, devices with an IPS display are suitable for browsing the Internet, watching movies and photos, they are loved by specialists involved in graphics and image processing. Of the positive qualities that such a screen has, we can note its safety for the eyes. The statement can be trusted, the verdict was made by ophthalmologists. But the technology also has disadvantages: high cost and long response time.

Smartphones, TVs, laptops, tablet computers, phones are now being produced with an IPS touch display that allows you to easily control the functions of electronic devices. The Japanese corporation "Iiyama" produces high-quality monitors that support projected capacitive technologies. The monitor is resistant to external influences, transmits a high quality image. You can control it with the touch of a few fingers or with a magnetic pen.

Electronics firms push new developments. For example, VA. The name can be translated as "vertical alignment". This is a compromise thathas been developed since 1996 and is designed to combine the best of previous technologies. Of the successful modifications, we can mention TFT U-IPS, TFT H-IPS. But IPS matrices are considered the most promising. Particular attention is paid to them by the companies "LG", "Panasonic". Models of devices are created that have an IPS-TFT display type (it was developed by Hitachi and NEC). Their production takes into account not only quality, but also a well-thought-out design, as well as affordable prices.
