And over-limit packages are comparable in cost to the subscription fee for the tariff plan itself with much less traffic.
For MTS subscribers who want to avoid going beyond the limit and the need to connect additional packages, there are several ways to control the consumed traffic. All of them are quite simple, so it is usually not difficult to find out the rest of the traffic on MTS.
USSD commands
Checking the rest of the traffic from MTS is carried out by four commands:
- 107, which launches a primitive USSD menu, in which the required item "Internet" is indicatednumber 1. After typing it and pressing the call key, you need to wait for a response SMS message with information about the available traffic.
- 217, which implies the receipt of a similar message without additional actions on the part of the subscriber, however, at the moment this service is unstable: in most cases, after sending this command, the subscriber receives the message "Find out the rest of the traffic in the convenient My MTS application" or on the official website".
- 1001 - a command that can be used by subscribers using tariffs without a monthly fee.
- 1002 - suitable for those who nevertheless exceeded the limit and connected one of the traffic packages. The balance of such a package will be displayed in the incoming message.
SMS messages
In order to find out the rest of the traffic in this way, you need to send an SMS with the text "?" (without quotes, of course) to the short number 5340. After that, the subscriber's phone will receive a message like "You have access to 1.2 GB of traffic. Valid until 2018-01-01 00:00. The speed is maximum".
Personal account
This service will allow you to find out the rest of the traffic on the MTS number, and to perform all operations with the tariff plan and the services provided by the operator. To access the personal account, you must go to the official MTS website, enter your phone number and password in the special fields, then go through an anti-spam check and enter the confirmation code sent to the device. After authorization, the rest of the traffic will be displayedimmediately upon page load. For those who are interested in the amount of available Internet from additional packages, you need to click on the "Packages" link in "Tariffs and Services", then select "View current balance".
App "My MTS"
This method is available to owners of devices based on Android and IOS operating systems. You can download the My MTS application for free from the official app stores of both platforms. After installing the program, you can find out the rest of the traffic on MTS, the balance, the rest of the minutes, as well as SMS on its main page. Otherwise, the functionality of the application is almost identical to the personal account on the MTS website, except that it is much more convenient to use it from a mobile device: the interface adapted for tablets and smartphones is extremely concise, while not at the expense of functionality.
Checking traffic from a tablet
For many tablets, the above instructions are quite relevant, however, a significant number of these devices do not have voice communication modules and, as a result, they do not support a telephone keypad: it is simply impossible to dial a USSD command. In addition, in some tariff plans designed specifically for tablets, the ability to receive and send SMS is disabled. In this case, USSD commands will not work either, since they are based on the short message service.
Accordingly, find out the rest of the MTS traffic ontablets without a phone module, you can use the following methods:
- App "My MTS".
- "My account" on the website.
- Using a utility capable of working with USSD commands. Please note that this method will not work on every device.
Checking traffic on a mobile modem
The group of devices for portable and personal computers stands apart - mobile modems. Despite the rather large volumes of traffic provided on tariffs for modems (for example, MTS-Connect), it will still be useful to find out the rest of the traffic.
Of course, no one bothers to remove the SIM card from the modem, insert it into the phone and send the same SMS, but doing this, to put it mildly, is inconvenient. Therefore, the ability to check traffic was built into the interface of the modem control program. Depending on the device model and software version, the methods may vary: some utilities allow you to find out the rest of the MTS modem traffic using the button of the same name, others provide support for a virtual keyboard with which the desired USSD command or message can be sent without problems. In addition, the personal account on the site will also give an answer to the subscriber's question.
Communication with the operator
You can also find out about the amount of available traffic by calling the operator at 0890. But this method is usually associated with a rather long wait for an answer.
