After a period of conservation, transportation, change of season, or a long period of inactivity of the equipment, the electric motor must be put into operation. A lot depends on the correct start-up: service life, operability of protection and control circuits, the number of subsequent repairs, etc. Operation of the machine begins with commissioning. They must be organized on the basis of an official instruction. Each company has its own way of doing it. But the basic work before the first start of the equipment is the same for most machines:
- First of all, organizational measures are carried out: a work permit or an order for these works is issued, briefings and necessary permits are made, the composition of the brigade is formed.
- After that, the responsible personnel make the necessary shutdowns of the equipment and apply protective grounding to the line.
- The absence of voltage is checked as withusing devices, and touching live parts.
- After that, you can check the electric motor. Let's start with a visual inspection and check the rotation of the rotor. The shaft should be easy to turn by hand or, in the case of high power machines, in another way. In this case, there should be no extraneous sounds from the bearings. Check for correct grade of grease, change if necessary.
- Now we remove the barno and check the absence of voltage on the power cable and power circuits of the anti-condensation winding. Disconnect the power cables from the machine.
- We dismantle the copper jumpers and check the resistance of each winding with a micrometer. It should be the same, should not differ from the passport data. We test the windings with increased voltage using a special device. If everything is in order, we assemble the required winding scheme.
- We also check the electric preheater of the engine and restore the electrical circuit.
- In a similar way, we check the thermistors. After completing the inspection work, pay attention to the tightening torque of the bolts and the absence of foreign objects in the bar.
- Close the lid. If the electric motor has an explosion-proof design, then it is necessary to check the presence of a special seal and lubricant. All bolts must be tightly tightened to the correct torque.
It remains to check the addressing of the line andtest it with high voltage. If all parameters are normal, you can deal with the control and protection circuit. Each electric motor must be protected according to the main parameters: permissible overload current, overvoltage, etc. After checking the control and protection system for operability, we restore all switching and do a test run.
It should also be noted that other types, such as a DC electric motor, are tested in the same way. Slight differences in verification and preparation for launch depend on certain requirements in different companies.
