The emergence of new printing technologies improves the quality of prints and makes the scope of their application wider. Among them, sublimation printing stands out, the essence of which is to apply an image to products made of ceramics, wood, textiles and other materials.
What is sublimation
Sublimation is the transfer of dye in a heated state to thermal paper. In a thermal printer, the ink evaporates, and the image is applied from a ribbon that is located between the thermal paper and the element that heats the ink. Thus, during sublimation, there is no liquid phase of the paint, it immediately passes from the gaseous into the solid. Sublimation printing is similar to inkjet printing, but with the only difference that in this case, every dot on the applied surface is displayed, so the image is more realistic and stable.
Sublimation on fabric
This printing technology is used to print images on various media. One such carrier is fabric. The most common sublimation printing on T-shirts, T-shirts, sweatshirts. Such clothes can be washed, ironed and even bleached. Sublimation printing on fabric istransferring an image printed on a wide-format printer to fabric, while the image is bright, rich and durable.
Where sublimation is used on fabric
Transferring images to clothes by sublimation is widely used by designers. It is now popular to make clothes for promotions: T-shirts, blouses, ties are printed with the company logo. In addition, custom-made sublimation is done on clothes, scarves or shawls - this is a good souvenir.
Sublimation technology on fabric
Sublimation technology for printing on clothes is that the image is first transferred to paper. Then the paper, together with the fabric, is sent to a special device that, under pressure and high temperature, transfers the image from the paper to the fabric. The paint, passing into a gaseous state, penetrates into the fabric and in its fibers passes into a solid state. All this happens at temperatures above 180 degrees. The image becomes resistant due to the fact that the fibers of the fabric expand when heated and paint penetrates into them. Gradually, the temperature drops, and the pores of the fibers close, so the paint remains inside the fabric and is reliably protected from external influences. For sublimation printing, only synthetic fabrics are used, since natural ones do not have the ability to open and close their pores.
Printing on mugs
Sublimation printing on mugs allows you to get an imageHigh Quality. The technology for applying an image (more often a photograph) is the same as when applied to a fabric - first on paper, and then on a ceramic mug. At the same time, the borders of the pixel are not visible even when viewed under a microscope. Colors are vibrant and transitions are smooth.
Sublimation printing is a great option for those who care about image quality, because most often such mugs or t-shirts are intended for gifts to relatives and business partners. Thanks to this printing method, the image is durable and therefore memorable.
