One of the innovations in the work of owners of commercial vehicles is the driver's card. What is it and why is it necessary - it is useful for all drivers to know, because without it, work on freight and passenger transport is impossible. The driver card is an attribute of another obligatory automotive equipment today - a tachograph.
What is a tachograph
Tachograph is a device that records the speed limit, the average speed of the driver and the period of work. This allows you to prevent violations of traffic rules, as well as to normalize the time of work and rest. The tachograph is subject to mandatory certification, which will bring tangible benefits when working with law enforcement agencies, providing irrefutable evidence.
There are two types of these devices - digital and analog. The level of security of analog devices is lower, which leads to their gradual disappearance from the market. Cryptographic encryption on digital tachographs guarantees the preservation of the accumulated data, preventing their change for personal gain. Protection is ensured by the use of various types of plastic cards for working on it, among which is a driver's card. Driver card: what is it?
The driver's card is needed in order to identify the identity of the driver. This is a plastic chip card, which is personal and cannot be issued in more than one copy. - holding a license to drive a vehicle of category "C", "D", "E";
- absence of a specific person's card at the time of application;
- accommodationterritory of the Russian Federation for more than 185 days a year;
- age at least eighteen years old (for vehicles weighing less than 7.5 tons) and twenty-one years old (for passenger vehicles).
In the latter case, work experience of at least one year is required.
Types of driver cards
Currently, there are three types of cards in the Russian Federation, depending on the tachograph used by the driver of the vehicle.
1. Card for Russian tachographs with cryptographic protection (card with CIPF).
2. Card for Russian tachographs without cryptographic protection.
3. International standard card when working with a European tachograph (AETR card).
The main difference is in the Russian version and such a sample as an international driver's card. It consists in compliance with the requirements of the European Agreement and Russian technical regulations. Accordingly, the language of filling in the data on the cards is different.
Process for obtaining a driver card
The driver's card can be obtained by contacting the issuing organization.
