Philips definitely knows a lot about push-button (and not only) phones. New models regularly go on sale, which successfully replenish the already considerable product range of the company over and over again. The next creation of the company was a phone called "Philips X5500". Conventionally, all devices of the company can be divided into several categories. We will not go into this topic in depth.
Let's just say that the company has a certain tendency, reduced to the production of models with a high energy efficiency. As a result, this results in a long battery life without recharging from the electrical network. Design
It is quite possible that the reader used X623 in his time. In this case, he will immediately find a lot of similarities between this model and the Philips X5500. We can say that certain ideas were incorporated into the first device, which, however, did not find full practical application. So the X5500 became a continuation of this idea, the engineers successfully implemented the previously mentioned factors in it.

The device turned out to be quite weighty. In general, the case can be called a monoblock, and there will be absolutely no mistake in this. In addition, it differs in thickness. Now the main trend of the smartphone market is the pursuit of thinness of the device. And in this peculiar race, “Philips X5500” is clearly not in the first place. Device dimensions inall three planes are 124 by 53 by 15.5 millimeters. The phone weighs 156 grams. Yes, it is large, of course, but let's remember which battery is installed in the device. After that, everything should definitely fall into place.
Build Quality
There shouldn't even be any complaints about this parameter. The solidity of the structure is simply excellent, it does not deteriorate at all, and the use of plastic as a material for the manufacture of the case does not have any attention to this. In general, the device is assembled really high quality. Nothing in it creaks or falls off, no backlashes were found during operation. In addition, a positive factor in terms of assembly and its reliability was the weight of the phone. Although it feels in some way especially massive, but this does add to its strength. So why not then?

They have special inserts that are embossed. The edges, which are made in a similar way, can increase the reliability of holding the phone in your hands. And not just reliability, but also comfort. It will be almost impossible to accidentally drop the device from your hands, the chances of this are reduced to almost zero. By the way, if we talk about the color of the inserts, they are gray. In general, most of the case is decorated in black, so the gray elements stand out to a large extent against the background of such an ensemble. And this is not a drawback, but a well-thought-out design solution, which is quitecan be called an advantage.

Rear panel
It is nothing more than a combination of a small number of glossy inserts integrated into the metal structure. It is interesting that such inserts are located exclusively on opposite ends: upper and lower. It is possible that the designers of the phone with the help of such a solution tried to make the design as original as possible. However, in fact, we see that this had a negative impact. Some time after use, the metal cover becomes covered with a network of small (or maybe large, depending on operating conditions) cracks.

In the service menu, however, you can perform some tricky manipulations that will partly solve the sound problem. The body is definitely heavy. For some, this can also be a negative indicator. Nevertheless, this topic has already been discussed together with the battery of the device, so we will not complain and unequivocally write down the smartphone’s overall size as a disadvantage. 3G is not supported by the device, so it will not work to make a modem from the device.
