Modern office buildings, large shopping centers, railway stations and airports - such public places with a large flow of people can no longer be imagined without automatic sliding doors. This design makes it much easier for people with a suitcase, basket or stroller to enter and exit the building. Doors open when approached and close after a set time interval.

The choice of automatic doors is due to their undeniable convenience, as well as long service life and safety. The only obstacle to their installation will be the lack of space for opening the doors.

If the question of choice arose - to install a simple door or automatic sliding entrance doors - it is better to weigh all the advantages of the second design:

  • they have increased bandwidth;
  • entering the building becomes more comfortable;
  • work intensity in the millionsopening cycles;
  • maintaining a constant temperature by reducing heat loss;
  • increased safety due to special sensors;
  • raising the status of the organization.

There are only three opening options for automatic doors: hinged, sliding and rotating.

Swing

This is the most economical solution. A special drive is installed on any existing door. The lever mechanism allows the door to close tightly.

Sliding version

Automatic sliding door system is the most popular solution. In this case, the opening cannot exceed three meters, but the height is not limited. Sliding doors have various variations: they can be radius, telescopic, corner, semicircular, folding and equipped with an anti-panic system.

Rotating

These doors are called revolving, or carousel. They are designed for a very large flow of visitors. These doors are the only ones that maintain the microclimate of the room, while not hindering the free passage of people. Neither dirt nor cold or noise from the street will enter the building when such a system is installed. These doors are not only reliable, but also durable: their resource is designed for 15-20 years of continuous operation.

Materials

Most often two proven and reliable materials are used for automatic doors:

  • Stalinite. It is a tempered glass, which has a modified crystal lattice in the upper layer,obtained by melting. This is done for safety. When breaking such glass, the fragments will have rounded edges, which will reduce the risk of cuts.
  • Triplex. With the help of polymer compositions, several layers of glass are connected. Upon impact, such a structure will not collapse into small fragments, since most of them will remain glued together.

Types of sliding doors

Installation of sliding automatic doors is determined by the project, depending on the conditions of the finished opening.

In most cases, this is an individual order. The most popular are four types of automatic doors:

  • Standard. In this case, the sash habitually go in opposite directions. The block itself contains horizontal guides for movement.
  • Semicircular. This option may be of interest for its unusual design. Such sashes look very stylish, while the interior can be chosen for any design idea - all thanks to the smooth bending of the guides and canvases.
  • Angular. It will become an original solution when choosing the design of both the facade of the building and the interior filling. The angle between the wings can be straight or any other value.
  • Telescopic. Automatic sliding doors of this option provide for the presence of several leaves in the aisle. At the same time, they completely cover the space in the closed state, and in the open state they go behind each other. Such doors are installed when there is no additional space for installing other, moremassive canvases.

Specifications:

  • opening speed of 2 sliding doors is about 1.5 m/s;
  • maximum total weight of sliding door leaves is 200-260 kilograms;
  • gearmotor resource - at least 3 million openings;
  • sash thickness - about 10 mm;
  • Sensor response speed is less than 1 second., while it is placed at a height of 2 to 7 meters.

Automatic door design elements

There are three main elements of a door with automatic opening:

  • Directly cloth, which can be made from various materials.
  • Guides and rollers that make up the sliding system mechanism.
  • Electronically controlled electric drive equipped with optional accessories.

Cloths are made of triplex or stalinite, framing for them can be steel or aluminum.

Automatic sliding glass doors are often transparent. Sometimes they may have drawings, engravings, haze.

Sliding automatic aluminum doors have a different profile thickness, depending on the leaf weight. To seal the opening, special rubber seals and brushes are installed in the ends of the sheets.

The automatic door opening mechanism is located in its upper part. This is due to the fact that the installation from below, due to the large influx of visitors, will become unusable earlier. Automatic sliding doors are installed, the instructions for which are provided by the manufacturer, only by professionals in this field. Otherwise, there is a risk of improper installation, which will shorten the life of the product.

Components of automation

Automatic sliding doors have several basic items in electronics accessories:

Motion sensor (or detector). Its function is to open the door leafs when a person appears in a certain area, and then close the door leafs if the object is not in the system visibility zone for a specified time. Modern sensors do not respond to weather events (precipitation or light), and are infrared or microwave

  • Photocell. This device allows a person to be safe even in the doorway, while the curtains will not close.
  • Batteries for trouble-free operation. Automatic sliding doors will be able to continue working even when the main power supply is turned off. But the operation time is limited by the battery charge.
  • A selector that allows you to set different modes. Sometimes it is equipped with software.
  • Locks of electromechanical type. They allow you to block the doors when the building is closed at night or on a non-working day.

Varieties of opening

Depending on the method of opening the curtains, automatic doors are divided into:

  • Sliding. In this design, the sashes simply move along the guides. Atit should be noted that such a door does not hold much heat.
  • Parallel-sliding. Such a system is considered the most successful, although it has a threshold, but it is quite high and does not reduce the heat-shielding qualities of the door. The canvases go along the guides in the usual mode, and to ventilate the room, the doors can be folded back.
  • Lift-sliding. Automatic sliding doors of this design imply the presence of a fixed part into which the movable leaf goes. At the same time, the disadvantage of the door is the threshold, which worsens the heat-shielding properties and is susceptible to icing at low temperatures.

Operating modes

Automatic doors are equipped with a special device - a selector that allows you to select the desired opening mode. There are five operating modes:

  1. Single sided. In this case, the door works only in one direction - to the entrance or exit.
  2. Standard. Movement occurs when an object approaches from any direction.
  3. Summer. The canvases work as usual and diverge completely.
  4. Winter. The movement of the canvases occurs to a certain limit, that is, not to the end.
  5. Closed. Sensors do not respond to the approach of an object, the curtains open only from the signal of a special electronic key, which is usually kept by the guards.

Programs allow you to set the door opening in a given mode.

Their function is to determine the distance at which a person should be foractivation of the opening sensor. You can also set the speed of the blades.

Advantages of automatic sliding door

  • High throughput with limited time.
  • Quiet.
  • Resistant to drafts. The canvases will not sway with gusts of wind.
  • The advantage over swing structures is to save space in front of the door due to the movement of the canvases to the edges of the opening.
  • Setting the necessary modes for a different flow of customers and different times of the year.
  • Wide variety of designs.
  • There are almost no restrictions on the size of the future design.

Disadvantages of automatic type sliding door

There are two significant reasons why automatic doors are not installed:

  • high cost;
  • the need for preventive maintenance, which also require additional costs.

But these disadvantages apply only to installation in a private room, in which it will not be difficult to pull or push the door. In rooms with a large flow of visitors, such shortcomings will not become an obstacle to installation: positive properties compensate for all shortcomings.
