Now there are two most common ways to access the Internet from a tablet. They are based on wireless data transmission technologies. The first one is to use Wi-Fi. Among its advantages are the high speed of information transfer (in some cases it can reach 150 Mbps) and ease of configuration. He has only one minus - this is the need to be near the transmitter (up to 10 meters). But the second method is based on the use of 2G and 3G networks. It does not tie us to any particular place, but its speed is much slower.
Wi-Fi
The most convenient and fastest way to access the Internet from a tablet is using Wi-Fi. At the same time, the data transfer rate can reach a record 150 Mbps. The procedure for setting up such a connection is as follows:
- Setting up a wireless router. We set the name of our network and password to protect it from unauthorized access. This step is performed on a laptop or desktop PCby connecting directly to it.
- Turn on the tablet PC and go to the address: "Applications / Settings / Networks /Wi-Fi" and activate this adapter (there should be an inscription "On" opposite it).
- Back to Applications.
- Next, you need to find a special Wi-Fi utility among the applications. Let's launch it. In the window that opens, click the "Search" button at the bottom left. After it ends, a list of available connections will appear. We select the network we need (its name was invented at the first stage). In the prompt that appears, enter the password and close the window.
- In this case, the icon of this wireless technology in blue should appear at the top of the screen. This indicates that the connection was successful
Now, to access the Internet from a tablet, just launch the browser, enter the address and press the "Go" button on the numeric keypad.
Via 3G modem
Unlike a Wi-Fi adapter, a 3G modem is not found in every such device. To do this, you need to study its characteristics in detail. If it is integrated, then there is no problem. Otherwise, you need to separately buy a modem compatible with the tablet, complete with an OTG cable for connection. And the order of how to access the Internet from the tablet, in this case, is as follows:
- Installing the SIM card.
- Next, you need to download and install the "Mode switcher" program.
- When using an external modem, connect it using an OTG cable.
- Turn on the communication device.
- Launch"Mode switcher" and select the mode called "Modem only".
- Then go to the address "Applications / Settings". Here, "Wireless Networks" should be ticked. And in this paragraph, the paragraph “3G” is marked in the same way.
- Then in this section we find the item "APN". In it, you need to create a new connection point and configure it in accordance with the recommendations of the mobile operator.
- Reboot the tablet.
- After the appearance of the 3G icon, access to the global web is provided.
This is a more complicated way to access the Internet from a tablet than in the previous case. It requires the installation of additional software and, in some cases, a separate purchase of a 3G modem.

This article describes two ways of how a tablet goes online. The first one based on Wi-Fi is perfect for home use. Its main disadvantage is a small range. But the second, using 3G networks, is available wherever there is a mobile connection. But the speed of such a connection leaves much to be desired. It is best used when traveling.
