Nothing lasts forever, and any product that has a notable success will sooner or later fall out of fashion. Even the most, at first glance, unique and stunning gadget is doomed to lose its popularity in the future. Tablet computers, which had high hopes, faced a similar fate. The devices were supposed to replace the PC.
All major players have lost interest in this category of devices (including Apple, Google and Samsung). For the most part, only budget devices, including domestic ones, such as the Texet TM 7026 tablet are actively sold.
A bit of history
Texet is a Russian brand of consumer electronics that was born more than 20 years ago. The products of this manufacturer have already established themselves as the most affordable in their class. The Texet brand produces tablets, smartphones, DVRs, e-readers and many other categories of devices.
Package
The basic package of the tablet includes a very solid set of accessories, which not every “top” tablet computer can boast of. So, in addition to the device itself, you can find in the kit:
- USB cable (for power supply andsync data with computer).
- OTG cable (for connecting additional accessories such as a physical keyboard, gamepads, etc.).
- Mediocre headphones (very rare for both tablets and budget devices in general).
- Network adapter.
- Device manual.
- Warranty card (a necessary thing for every budget device).
Quite a non-standard set, all accessories are not of the best quality, but they allow you to get rid of additional investments. If you put a case and an SD card in here, it would be absolutely fine.
Design
Dimensions: 192 x 121 x 10 millimeters. The tablet computer has a classic design. Impressive build quality. The body of the tablet is not made of cheap “soft-touch” plastic, but of real aluminum, and not of the most budgetary series. The case came out quite strong, not too easily soiled, resistant to chips and small scratches. There is no backlash in different parts of the body, everything is glued together.
Most of the front panel is occupied by the display. There is nothing on the rear panel except for the manufacturer's logo and the antenna (or rather, a plastic insert under it, which allows the signal to pass through the case). On the right side face are the sound controls and the power button. On the bottom you can find all the necessary ports: mini-USB, SD memory card slot, headphone port (3.5 mm) and microphone.
Display
The device has a very mediocre screen made using TFT technology, which is extremely outdated today. The display diagonal is only 7 inches, and its resolution is 800 by 480 pixels (the number of pixels per inch is 133). The picture came out quite grainy, the color reproduction clearly suffers, and the notorious TFT technology negatively affects the viewing angles. Even a non-critical angle can invert colors (it looks like it’s not a technical achievement of the 21st century, but an old tube TV).
The display panel is protected by glossy glass. There is no protection against glare, it is not possible to use the tablet in the sun. The “multi-touch” sensor is not impressive either, false clicks and a delayed reaction are possible.
The display is widescreen, which means it's great for watching movies and videos, but on the other hand, it's not the best choice for web surfing.
Performance
You should not count on high performance in such an affordable gadget. The heart of this tablet is the Chinese Allwinner/Box Chip A13 single-core processor, the clock speed of which can reach 1.2 GHz. Such acceleration will be enough for basic tasks, watching videos, listening to music, working with documents, taking notes and so on.
The classic Mali 400 MP is responsible for the graphics capabilities. Unfortunately, this video processor will not cope with any modern game, so you will have to make do with indie projects or not.play at all. As for the video, the supported formats, which include WMV, MKV and others, are played without problems. No slowdowns or freezes detected.
Memory
One of the main disadvantages of Android-based devices is the constant lack of RAM. Owners of the Texet TM 7026 will have to face the same problem, the device has room for only 512 megabytes of “RAM”, which will certainly affect both the overall performance and the operation of individual applications. Android, unlike iOS or Windows Mobile, cannot allocate RAM correctly, which means that all running programs will fight mercilessly for every megabyte, bringing the gadget to freezes and “brakes”.
As for the main memory, not everything is going smoothly here either: the tablet comes in only one configuration Texet TM 7026 4Gb. Only 4 gigabytes of memory, which will go to the operating system and a couple of the most necessary applications. Fortunately, the ROM can be expanded with a microSDHC memory card. It can store videos, books, music.
Shooting quality
The Texet TM 7026 tablet is not equipped with a rear camera. There is only a frontal one with a resolution of 0.3 megapixels. It is unlikely that this alignment will please selfie fans, but it will be enough for video calls on Skype and conferences on Hangouts.
In fairness, it should be noted that enthusiasts and especially desperate craftsmen will probably adapt and be able to take pictures of business cards and documents using the front camera, thereforeit is worth saying that the camera can perform utilitarian functions.
Autonomy
The battery life is not the best indicator of this device, as there is a rather modest battery. You cannot rely on the Texet TM 7026 tablet on a long trip and even more so on a hike. In general, you should not go far from the outlet with it, but it is better to get a portable battery that will allow you to keep the tablet in working condition throughout the day. The battery capacity is 2400 milliamp-hours.
On average, a tablet "lives" for about 6 hours when watching a video (enough for two-plus movies and a dozen music albums).
Wireless interfaces
The tablet does not have a rich set of wireless technologies. The only wireless interface that wormed its way under the hood of the gadget is Wi-Fi with support for one frequency 802.11n.
Using an OTG cable, you can connect a portable modem.
Operating system
As a software platform for the brainchild of Texet stands "Android" 4 generations. This version of the "OS" from Google is the first fully adapted for large displays (more than 5 inches). Also, this version got rid of many annoying bugs that have plagued Android for many years. The system is more stable and faster than previous versions, even on old and weak devices, such as the Texet TM 7026 tablet.
Majority support availablemodern applications from the Play Market. Those applications that were rewritten for the Material Design interface will not work with the 4th version, but you can find older versions in the form of APK files.
Texet TM 7026 tablet: price
The tablet is still on sale, it is easy to find it in online stores and purchase it with delivery. The average price on Yandex. Market for a Texet TM 7026 4Gb Silver tablet is about 4,000 rubles.
Possible problems
With its affordable cost, the tablet has almost no significant drawbacks, but there is still one weak point - the battery. It's not even a low battery capacity, but overheating. After connecting the tablet to the mains, you must leave it alone, it is advisable to transfer it to airplane mode. If the Texet TM 7026 tablet does not turn on, most likely the problem is in the battery or in the charger (it is better to replace the supplied AC adapter with any similar one).
Reviews
People who buy devices at such a low price give the most accurate estimates, because they realize that the cost of the tablet is simply ridiculous.
Users speak positively about the dimensions of the device and the body as a whole, note the high strength and scratch resistance. Oddly enough, they praise the display without complaining about pronounced pixels and faded colors.
Most people encounter unpredictable behavior of the gadget when a standard charger is connected, the display reacts incorrectly to each touch, launching programs, flipping pages, websites, and so on.
Instead of a conclusion
What do we have in the bottom line? The Texet TM 7026 tablet, whose performance is not too impressive, is still one of the most affordable and practical portable computers that can be used as an e-book, music player or bought as a gift for a child.
