The experience that the Finnish manufacturer has gained over the years of sales of mobile phones has shown that the touch future is not far off, and many other companies are actively striving to reduce the range of push-button devices in order to transfer the audience to touch devices. Then a kind of restructuring within the Finnish company began. The manufacturer decided that the concept of touch screens should be heeded and prepared for its further development and build-up. Although in the lineup of Nokia phones, push-button devices have always occupied a prominent place. Well, today we will talk about a phone called “Nokia 300”, which has become one of the devices that combines a push-button solution with a touchscreen.
A few characteristics
“Nokia 300 Asha” was placed in the mid-range category. One of the features of the device is a screen with a diagonal of 2.4 inches, as well as a camera with a resolution of 5 megapixels. The function of auto focusing on the subject of shooting she hasmissing. It is possible to record video in the so-called VGA quality. To connect a wired headset or computer headphones, a 3.5 mm jack is provided, there is a special slot for integrating an external drive. Well, as a hardware stuffing, a processor operating at a clock frequency of one gigahertz is installed.
Package
The delivery package of the device under the name “Nokia Asha 300” includes the device itself, a charger for it, a removable battery, a stereo headset of fairly good quality, as well as all the necessary documentation. This means that the package includes a warranty card that is issued when buying a phone, as well as a quick user guide (it is also an instruction manual).
Color schemes
The device comes in several colors to the mobile phone market. Usually it is gray and black, but there is a device in red design. Well, as we can see, the choice is not very rich. Probably, initially instead of gray it was planned to release the phone in white design. However, this has happened more than once: when the white color did not get accustomed to the body and looked much worse on it than the other, the Finnish manufacturer made the appropriate decision. In the meantime, the release of the device in red has brought at least some variety.
Material of production
Full phone caseIt's made of some sort of plastic. "Why is it incomprehensible?" you might ask. Everything is very simple. The Nokia 300 phone seems to lie well in the hand, securely, at the same time conveniently, without causing discomfort. But this is only at the beginning. Immediately after the purchase of the device and its initial operation, it seems that everything is assembled just fine. Yes, perhaps to some extent it is. But over time, you begin to notice that the plastic from which the back cover of the device is made is very, very thin. Very often it bends inward. No need to press too hard, just a little more pressure on the wall, and you will instantly see the results of the corresponding action.
Another controversial decision
It is impossible to say unequivocally that the plastic insert that contains the control buttons (and it is made in the form of a transverse shiny flat figure) has taken root in the design of the device. We can, for example, seize on the discussion of this problem with the brilliant gloss that was applied to the manufacture of the front panel. It looks like it sparkles when lit. You can even fleetingly think that this is not plastic at all, but the most real metal lining. And at the same time, such a composition looks, perhaps, not that not very worthy, but really strange in the conditions in which the design of the device took place.
In general, this time the designers of the Finnish company tried to trick something, but went beyond the scope of authority. And phone buyers will now have to pay for thiswrong decision to pay. However, let's still not forget that the phone is not so expensive, so it would not be very correct to complain about the discrepancy between some elements of the appearance and expectations. Probably, the Finnish mobile phone manufacturer voted in favor of this design decision only because they wanted to present the device to potential buyers more expensive than it actually was.
Dimensions
The dimensions for such a phone are very, very average. You can even say that they are standard or typical for most devices of the same class or the same niche. Well, now more specifically. The height of the device is almost 113 (112.8) millimeters with a width of 49.5 and a thickness of up to 12.7 mm. With a mass that does not even exceed 85 grams, one can already start talking about the fact that a miniature brick has turned out. This is how users often call this model of a mobile phone. At the same time, the language will not turn to call the device a real shovel. Yes, the phone in the hand, of course, is felt. But not so much to speak of him like that. If we talk about transporting the device, then it is convenient to do it with the help of ordinary pockets on clothes. Even if you put the device in jeans, you will hardly notice any discomfort when carrying.
Front panel
There is a shiny overlay on the front. It has a small hole in it. If you look closely, you can find a conversational speaker in it. And the block of keys is located already under the screen of the phone. The buttons for sending a call, accepting it, and rejecting it are made of silver-colored plastic. Even despite the fact that they are made in a narrow form, the keys are quite comfortable to use. The left button is for sending a voice call, the right one interrupts it. You can also turn off your phone using this button. The central navigation key allows the user to open the text message menu when using absolutely any application on the phone.
Keyboard details
In general, the keys are made soundly. They are large. The width of a single button alone is about one and a half centimeters. Thus, we get a device that offers real comfort when exchanging text messages. It is convenient and easy to type text, it is practically impossible to press the wrong key by accident. Button travel is small. Keystrokes are confirmed by a dull click, not loud. By the way, both the body of the phone and the buttons are made of the same material. It's matte plastic.
Center
The keyboard block is somewhat raised in this place. This was done to make it even more convenient for the owner of the phone to work with the keys, typing text messages, making notes or typing small text passages for themselves. The symbols on the keys are painted in white. Speech that the designations on them are not visible, and cannot be. Whenyou will receive a phone call, the keypad will flash. Thus, the keys play in parallel the role of an event indicator, which is made in a peculiar manner of the Finnish manufacturer.
Top end
“Nokia 300”, the sensor of which occupies most of the front panel, has three different ports on the top end at once. One of them is the charger socket. It is called “thin” because the cable does indeed have non-standard dimensions today in this corresponding projection. At the same time, there is a microUSB port on the top end, which is designed to synchronize the phone with a personal computer or laptop. In principle, with its help from the corresponding device it will be possible to charge the phone, but it will be much slower than using an ordinary electrical network. Well, the whole picture is completed by a 3.5 mm jack, which is present in this part of the device for connecting a wired stereo headset to it (including the one that is included in the package), as well as the most ordinary computer headphones.
Right side
Here we have a thin key, the purpose of which lies in adjusting the volume of the device. The button has a fairly short stroke. For ease of use, the engineers decided to divide it into two halves, but the situation only worsened. As a result, we got a key with a minimum stroke, it is pressed very, very tightly, which leads to inconvenience and discomfort when trying to turn down or turn up the volume. Looking a little lower, we can find an element that allows you to lock the screen. However, a reversely symmetrical action cannot be performed. To unlock the phone, you will first need to use this button, and then click on the touch screen of the Nokia 300 device, which currently costs almost four thousand rubles (3,800 to be precise).
Left side
On the opposite side there is a special mount into which you can thread the strap. To remove the back cover, there is a recess. This is what you need to use if you need to perform an operation, for example, with a battery.
Rear panel
It's all made from the same material. Note that this is matte plastic. In the upper left corner you can find the camera. It has a resolution of 5 megapixels. Below there are holes cut specifically for the main audio speaker. That's basically all there is to say about the layout of controls on the phone.
Note
We remind readers that you can always find games on the Nokia 300 using the official website of the Finnish manufacturer. Very often, buyers of the device are faced with one interesting and annoying problem that occurs in this model due to some design flaws. The fact is that the screen sometimes stops responding to touch. If the Nokia 300 sensor does not work, just restart the phone first. Work should stabilize. If this does not happen, then you should probably contactservice center.
Owner Reviews
So, what can the reviews of customers who have purchased the phone model we are reviewing tell us? Among the advantages, users highlight the quality of the connection of the device. In general, it is difficult to find devices in the Finnish manufacturer's product range that would suffer from such a drawback. However, everything is not so good with a call, you can miss it in a noisy environment. There are no complaints about the vibrating alert, you can feel it through your pocket.
In their reviews, buyers of the phone name a good camera as a plus, which takes pictures in sufficient resolution. They also contain the material for the manufacture of the case. The keyboard is generally comfortable.
Among the shortcomings, one can single out, first of all, the unstable operation of the touch screen. Some time after the start of operation, it begins to behave at least strangely. Freezes begin in the display, the sensor does not respond correctly to pressing. At some point, he may stop responding altogether. If this happens, rebooting the phone saves, but doing such operations over and over again is not very fun, right? The second drawback can be called a not very loud call. Well, in general, the device turned out to be quite good.
