Fall from a great height and not crash, be crushed by someone or something, but at the same time survive, be in the water and not "choke". Not many mobile devices can boast of this. But still they exist.
Protective glass Gorilla Glass, you say? What about a metal body? A thick layer of rubber and plastic, tightly bonded as if one whole, is the real protection, according to the Taiwanese company Ginzzu, founded in 2009. She has several similar phones, but, by the way, one of them is the Ginzzu R6 Dual mobile phone. I wonder what this "armadillo" is capable of?
Included
A thick, predominantly orange box with a painted climber hides great treasures. In addition to the phone, there is a battery, a charger, a USB cable, an additional antenna and documentation in Russian. They even put a metal token and only forgot about the memory card.
Token without any drawings and inscriptions, but has a round hole. So its possibleuse as a keychain to wear on something.
Design
This phone is a monster. Its case looks like a bank vault with a small window for the display. It can be seen that the inside of the device is well protected. It is made of rubber and plastic, fully embossed, with yellow inserts. But this was certainly done not for beauty, but for practical purposes, because thanks to these notches and indentations, the phone, as it were, fuses with the hand when girth.
The voice speaker sits above the display and below it is a keyboard with a four-way button on top ready to launch any four applications quickly. On the left side there is an input for micro-USB, securely covered with a plug. On top is a flashlight and a connector for an antenna, which is screwed in as needed. In the meantime, the connector is also securely hidden.
On the reverse side - speaker, microphone and camera. The back cover is fixed with screws, and under it is the battery. We take it out and see two slots for 2 SIM cards and a memory card. Under the panel there is a yellow insert to which you can tie a string.
Ergonomics
But the Ginzzu R6 Dual mobile phone is convenient not only because it is unlikely to fall out of hand. The assembly of the device itself is excellent. All parts fit very tightly, as if it were a solid piece of rubber and plastic.
Buttons for turning on the flashlight, camera and walkie-talkie react instantly and are marked with corresponding images. Moreover, two of them (a flashlight and a walkie-talkie) are not even blocked. In short, access tosecond.
Screen and camera
You can't say anything special about a TFT display with a resolution of 240 × 320: it is the most ordinary, moderately clear, bright, with small viewing angles, but the image is viewed well in the sun.
Ginzzu mobile phone has a 2-megapixel camera. No flash, no focus, no hint at all of the urgent need for this feature in this device. In the settings, you can select the shutter sound, change the exposure, contrast, light frequency and delay time. The quality of photos and videos leaves much to be desired, but this was not the main goal of the developers. Although some expect more from the camera, as indicated by the reviews left by people using the Ginzzu phone.
Sound characteristics
Caution! The phone is noisy if the volume indicator is set to the maximum value. It doesn't matter where the owner of the device is - in the subway, in a cafe or on a busy street, the Ginzzu R6 Dual phone will definitely "shout out".
The voice speaker is also quite powerful, the conversation is well heard almost anywhere. In extreme cases, you can use a headset - in-ear headphones. For listening to music, they are probably rather weak, but just right for communication. Although some reviews characterizing the Ginzzu mobile phone claim that the headset produces high-quality sound. By the way, there are no complaints about the feedback either, because there are 2 microphones that provide excellent audibility to the interlocutor.
Work offline
Ginzu phonefor its characteristics it has a capacious battery - 1700 mAh, which is not easy to discharge. With the active use of all the capabilities of the device, it will last more than two weeks without recharging. True, operation in the walkie-talkie mode eats up the charge faster. But even in this situation, a week of battery life is still provided to him.
Calls, messages and organizer
Nothing new was noticed about the implementation of the work of two SIM cards in the device. It is possible to disable one of the slots, as well as change some parameters.
As for the call service, this includes the call log and the phone book. The directory allows you to place contacts either on SIM cards or on your device. When saving a new contact, you can only enter the name of the subscriber, his number and set a ringtone.
Mobile phone Ginzzu Dual R6 is able to send SMS and MMS-messages, but will have to do without e-mail. The phone's memory can store 300 text messages and 100 multimedia messages respectively.
Organizer is a set of functions consisting of a calculator, a calendar and an alarm clock. True, there is also the “SOS Settings” item, where you can save numbers to which a pre-typed message will be sent in case of emergency. To do this, it will be enough to type a certain combination with the keys.
Communications
The device works in GSM networks of various frequencies, supports GPRS connection, Bluetooth 2.0 and a Walkie-Talkie radio operating at a frequency of 400-470 MHz.
It can communicate within 2 kilometers. In addition, it has the function of noise reduction and separation into different groups of users who are in the same range.
Multimedia part
This includes an audio and video player with minimal settings. There is an FM tuner and a photo album to view the captured photos. The radio works only with a connected headset, and the voice recorder records files on a memory card.
From entertainment there are two games - "Fifteen" and "Magic Sushi", which have the most minimal settings. There is also a Bookshelf app - for those who love reading. True, it only recognizes txt-format, but its necessity here is already questionable, given the miniature display.
Protective qualities
And now about the main feature of the Ginzzu R6 Dual mobile phone - its security. According to the characteristics of the device, it has an IP67 protection standard, and this, for a second, is almost the maximum degree. In this situation, it must withstand a direct stream of water, be at a depth of 1 m (number 6) under water for some time and be completely protected from contact with dust (number 7). A little more and the device could dive under water for a longer time.
The cover that hides the battery is held securely and tightly thanks to the fasteners in the form of screws. Therefore, when dropped, the phone will not shatter into pieces. And the thickness of the case walls can be estimated by removing the battery.
What do they say about the protection that the phone hasGinzzu, owner reviews? It turns out that everything is fair here. Many users, intentionally or not, but found themselves in a situation where the protective qualities of the device were checked, and it adequately withstood these tests.
Summing up
The cost of the phone is about 6000 rubles. In principle, for such a price you can buy a more functional Android smartphone with a large screen and a multi-pixel camera. But it has its own, rather large, target audience, for which the quality of communication, reliability, security and long battery life are more important. Ginzzu is engaged in the creation of such devices. And it is not surprising that its products are very popular, because no manufacturer has yet produced analogues.
