Huawei launched the Ascend P6 in 2013 as the thinnest smartphone in the world. This Android-based device is only 6.18mm thick and is also unusual in that it has a 5MP front camera for high-quality self-portraits.

The Ascend P6 features Huawei's own tiled interface called Emotions and proprietary software, including camera apps, to enhance self-portraits.

Various energy-saving technologies, derived from the firm's experience as one of the largest manufacturers of telecommunications equipment, resulted in the device's battery lasting 30% longer than other similar gadgets.
Building a brand
Huawei is a well-known brand from China that has become a serious manufacturer of telecom type equipment. It was founded in 1987 and continues to develop at a rapid pace.
The company's transition to Android phones has been a great success, and the thinnestsmartphone is a direct confirmation of this. According to various researchers, the firm shipped 9.9 million smartphones during the first three months of 2013, making it the fourth largest device vendor after Samsung, Apple and LG.
However, the company's representatives recognize the need to improve and develop their technologies, and promise to ensure wide recognition of their products around the world within five years. According to the director of Huawei, seven years ago, few believed in the resounding success of Apple, five years ago, few saw Samsung as the market leader, so everything is still ahead.
