In the advertising business, a film made of polymeric materials is used both as one of the intermediate links in the printing process and as an independent information carrier. To date, one of the most popular ways of disseminating information is printing on self-adhesive film. Advertisement printed on a transparent "sticker" can be seen almost everywhere.
Brief description and scope of "self-adhesive"
Polymer film - the material is very durable and not subject to the vagaries of the environment. For this reason, "self-adhesive" is widely used for both indoor interior design and outdoor advertising.
Traditional advertising posters use standard white self-adhesive film. Public transport advertising media is printed on perforated self-adhesive film.
Production of advertising on cars on self-adhesive film "Oracal"
"Oracal" (Oracal) is a vinyl film that is actively used by manufacturers of outdoor, lighting and decorating advertising objects to create all kinds of stickers (for example, branded stickers for cars), plates, signs and pillars (advertising tripods).
The main step in creating stickers for branding cars is plotter cutting. The possibilities provided by the plotter allow turning any surface (be it a shop window or the outer surface of a car) into an elegant carrier of business information and advertising slogans.
The advantages of plotter cutting are the efficiency of work, the convenience of applying and removing obsolete advertising objects from the surface. Plotter cutting is used for the manufacture of stickers, information and navigation stickers, applications and collages, window dressing and exhibition stands, car wrapping, advertising signs and retail outlets.
Other types of self-adhesive films
For the manufacture of decorative and outdoor advertising, an opaque self-adhesive film made in St. Petersburg is also used. The production of advertising on opaque media is in demand for signage and office space decoration:
Sunlight-impermeable Black Out film is used for tinting surfaces, as well as for quickly dismantling advertising stands that have lost their relevance
Due to the presence of many holes (it resembles a grid), perforated film is often used for branding cars. On the front sideperforated film, the pattern shows through clearly, while the reverse side has a transparent effect
Metalized film is used in cases where there is a need to make the surface shine in a metallic style
Light-diffusing film is applied to the light source, so that the advertising content is perfectly visible in the dark
Transparent self-adhesive film has gained a special reputation in the advertising business. Advertising made on a transparent "self-adhesive" is of perfect quality (the service life of a transparent film is up to one year) and does not have a specific smell.
The most widely used transparent "self-adhesive" found in the field of so-called illuminated advertising. The film application technique guarantees a long lasting and strong adhesion to the surface.
The process of making car advertisements
Since car branding is impossible without the use of plotter cutting, it is with this procedure that advertising on a self-adhesive film on a car should be started.
After Oracal or other type of film is cut with the panoramic cutter, the sampling process begins. All unnecessary sections (which are not carriers of advertising information) are separated from the film containing the information block.
Further, the working parts of "Oracal" are rolled up with a new layer of "self-adhesive" (a whole sheet of film is glued over the information carrier). This part of the processprovides painless transportation of advertising objects made on a self-adhesive film to the surface of something. In this case, the outer surface of the car.
At the next stage, the working material (advertising information carrier film) together with the carrier film is separated from the paper lining and pasted onto a previously prepared plane.
After Oracal is completely stuck to the surface, the transfer film (professionals call it transport) is removed, and the storage medium remains.
How to calculate the approximate cost of car branding
The price of plotter cutting is measured in running meters, so before contacting a specialist, the customer needs to decide on the size. When ordering an advertising sticker for a car, a motorist must understand that each individual figure or letter is indicated by external lines (cutting is carried out along them) and has internal outlines. The cost of cutting is determined by the length of the outer lines.
With the calculation of the length of the outer lines, a special program successfully copes, into which the layout of the plotter cutting is loaded. All elements that make up the layout must be converted to vector curves. The lack of a layout makes it impossible to calculate the cost of plotter cutting, as well as the procedure for making advertising on self-adhesive film.
The final cost is formed after the contractor and the customer have decided onthe exact dimensions, the quality of the material used and the amount of paint.
Procedure for making contour cut stickers
The procedure for creating this type of stickers is significantly different from the production of advertising on "self-adhesive" with plotter cutting. Contour-cut stickers can be called elegant applique stickers. They differ from traditional stickers in multicolor, brightness and maximum clarity of their lines.
Printing stickers is carried out on a specialized technique that allows you to create images with a very high resolution - from 720 to 1440 and more dpi. If necessary, contour cut stickers are covered with a special protective layer - a laminate.
Shutting down
After the stickers are printed, it's time for contour cutting. For this purpose, a cutting plotter is used - a device capable of cutting stickers along the contour with the highest accuracy. This technique, due to its low cost, is often used for the production of low-circulation labels.
The final stage in the production of advertising on self-adhesive film is to remove unnecessary elements. If necessary, a carrier film is rolled over the finished product.
