Year after year, the same trends are observed in the market of TV devices, and this year was no exception. Almost all big brands are trying to lure potential consumers with new products that support ultraformat or have a curved screen. Some rely on OLED matrices, and someone has made great progress in smart technologies.
Of course, high-rated TVs get all the most advanced features and technologies. Such models are called flagships and predict a bright future for them, offering them at a very solid price. In simpler solutions, the consumer has to put up with some shortcomings and look for compromise options in an acceptable price segment for him.
So, the best LCD TVs: rating, review of models and opinions of experts in this field. All of the following models have been at specialized exhibitions, received high scores and have proven their right to be bought more than once.
Best LCD TVs (quality rating):
- Samsung UE48J6330AU.
- Sony BRAVIA KDL-55W807C.
- LG 55EG910V.
Let's analyze each model in more detail.
Samsung UE48J6330AU
The device with a non-trivial name UE48J6330AU is an inexpensive, but quite functional solution with Full HD image support. The screen diagonal (48 ) is almost perfect for the size of an average bedroom or even a living room.
Over the past year, almost all companies have thrown on the market a huge number of devices with similar technical characteristics, so it was very difficult for experts to rank the best TVs. Despite the widespread imposition of "ultra" resolutions and devices with curved screens, models with a "flat" format (1080p) are still among the most popular. The price of the model also plays an important role, which for the domestic consumer is, if not in the first place, then in the list of critical factors - that's for sure.
Features of the model
It makes no sense to demand much from the new Samsung. Nevertheless, the device has something to brag about, and the abundance of interesting features will certainly please the owner of the model. Naturally, in the first place is a high-quality picture. A modern VA-matrix with a frequency of 120 Hz is responsible for the image, which automatically adds points to the contrast and brightness indicators. As an additional tool for managing the image, Micro Dimming Pro technology has been introduced into the model, which is able to programmatically shade the screen if necessary.
Separately, it is worth noting the high-quality calibration of the matrix on the factory conveyor, which does not require additional settings and manual adjustments. But almost all Samsung TVs sin with such advantages. The rating was replenished with this model also due to the functionality of the device, for which the Tizen operating system is responsible. It greatly expands the multitasking of the model and is replete with a large number of applications for every taste and color.
Buy or not?
Some complain about the lack of 3D technologies, but for many this factor is not critical, so the model can be recommended to all those who want to get a high-quality picture and rich functionality for a relatively small amount.
Features:
- display 40’’, 48’’;
- resolution 1920x1080 pixels;
- VA-matrix;
- smart TV;
- platform - Tizen;
- sound - 2 x 10W speakers.
Sony BRAVIA KDL-55W807C
The new Bravia model is positioned as a technologically advanced and multifunctional device with a high resolution scan. The KDL series varies with four diagonals: 43, 50, 55 and 65 inches. Any model from the series exceeds the cost of budget devices with 4K resolution from competitors, but after a close acquaintance with the new product from Sony, it becomes clear why it got into the rating of LCD TVs on the top lines and what the money was spent on.
The first thing you should pay attention to isreally good quality picture. The brand does not change its principles and continues to use high-end VA matrices. The result is an excellent contrast ratio (3300:1) along with a deep and realistic picture that rival TVs would envy. The rating was replenished with this model also due to the large number of settings and thanks to the support of 10-point white balance calibration, and this moment is especially pleasing. By analogy with Samsung, Sony models can be used out of the box, due to competent factory calibration.
Smart TV features
The model is equipped with a new smart functionality on the Android platform, which was a pleasant surprise for many. There are no complaints about the functionality of Android TV at all. The firmware greatly increases the capabilities of the device, as it works with the Play Market, and this is tons of useful and multifunctional software. Plus, the model has the ability to install third-party applications from external drives, and this is a weighty argument.
Features:
- display 43’’, 50’’, 55’’, 65’’;
- resolution 1920x1080 pixels;
- VA-matrix;
- 3D-functional;
- smart TV;
- platform - "Android";
- sound - 2 x 10W speakers.
LG 55EG910V
TV ratings cannot do without models from LG, especially since the new device of the brand is able to seriously compete with the previous device. Unlike Sony, the 55EG910V finds a consumer through OLED technology and its affordability.
The Korean giant does not hide the fact that it makes the main bet on OLED, due to which devices from LG are getting better and better year after year, but, probably, the most important thing for the domestic consumer is getting cheaper and cheaper. The downside of OLED technology is the smooth curve of the screen, so if you look at it from a right angle, you simply don't see any effects.
Such a policy may not suit cinephiles who want to get maximum immersion in what is happening on the screen, and therefore the only way out for brand fans is a large diagonal and "ultra" scanning. Nevertheless, the smoothness of the arc avoids some unpleasant moments for the eyes, such as geometric distortions. By and large, all this smoothness of lines and curvature is just another design move (but extremely attractive).
Device features
OLED technology has always been associated with excellent contrast tending to infinity. Have not yet come up with such LCD matrices that would compete with this technology in terms of picture depth and image realism. Some owners complain that OLED is too hard to set up compared to LCD. But where else can you find 20-point white calibration and color gamut options? So, the model has replenished the rating of smart TVs for good reason.
Smart TV Features
Smart TV runs on proprietary webOS firmware, which has proven itself only on the positive side. The versatility of the platform is pleasing to the eye, and the amount of software is simplygoing wild. The operating system is in no way inferior to Samsung's branded Tizen in any way. It was WebOS that became the first platform that works in a multitasking environment, and this is up to a dozen simultaneously running applications, between which you can safely switch without any friezes and glitches.
All applications open in seconds, and media files are processed almost instantly. Working at such speeds and with such capabilities is a pleasure. The model can be recommended both to admirers of the brand and lovers of complete immersion in what is happening on the screen. One thing is for sure - the device turned out to be successful, intelligent and, among other things, extremely attractive.
Features:
- display 55’’ curved;
- resolution 1920x1080 pixels;
- OLED matrix;
- 3D-functional;
- smart TV;
- platform - WebOS;
- sound - 2 x 10W speakers.
